Perfusion Imaging
Myocardial Imaging is indicated in those patient that are unable to perform treadmill exercise due to an orthopedic or other health problem. The cardiac stress can be simulated by using a drug such as Adenosine. The scan is the same as the exercise myocardial perfusion imaging described above.
PREPARATION: Do not eat or drink anything except water for 6 hours prior to testing. Hold all medications the day of the test unless otherwise directed by your physician. No Caffeine for 24 hours prior to testing. Please inform the technologist if there is a possibility that you are pregnant.
TEST RESULTS: The results will be interpreted by our cardiologists, and your physician will be sent the test results within 24 hours.
