Louisville Cardiology Group Overview

Heart disease can be a frightening and complex condition. However, it is also often treatable and preventable. Louisville Cardiology Group has built its practice on the principle of providing the best care possible to each patient by offering the most advanced and thorough treatment in a supportive, convenient environment.

Our experienced, certified physicians trained in the nation’s top universities and medical centers and are among the best in the field of cardiology. They strive to develop relationships with their patients and make a special effort to call each patient personally to explain test results. They also take time to answer questions about conditions and procedures, and encourage nurses, technicians and other staff in the practice to do the same.

Louisville Cardiology offers a complete scope of diagnostic testing, treatments and procedures that range from common echocardiography, angioplasty and pacemaker placement, to more innovative testing and procedures such as radial (wrist) catheterization, atrial fibrillation ablation techniques, and repairing holes in the heart with minimally invasive surgery.

Our relationship with Baptist Health, the area’s top provider of medical cardiology services, allows us to offer a multidisciplinary approach to heart care and gives us access to a network of the region’s top specialists, surgeons and facilities.

The group’s partnership with Baptist Health Louisville has resulted in award-winning heart care for the area’s residents.

The hospital is one of only a handful nationwide to earn the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® Heart Attack Receiving Center Accreditation. The accreditation program — sponsored by the American Heart Association and the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care — recognizes centers that meet or exceed quality of care measures for people experiencing the most severe type of heart attack, ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), in which blood flow is completely blocked to a portion of the heart.

As part of these aggressive efforts to treat patients with coronary artery disease, Louisville Cardiology has been instrumental in creating a regional network for acute cardiac care. This network allows the region’s hospitals, cardiologists and emergency personnel to work together to minimize the time it takes to treat heart attack patients. In addition, our physicians have helped organize an inventive Chest Pain Clinic, which directs low-risk patients with chest pain away from the emergency room and into the proper testing and treatment, while reducing their stay at the hospital to about three hours.

Other programs such as a Congestive Heart Failure Clinic, Heart Valve Clinic and Cardiac Rehabilitation provide multidisciplinary teams to work with patients with cardiovascular disease, giving them and their caregivers a support system and helping them to manage their conditions.

Louisville Cardiology physicians and staff also participate in a number of significant research studies and continually seek additional training and certification opportunities. Our physicians also are involved in the community through prevention and treatment programs such as the American Heart Association’s “Go Red” for women campaign, the Have a Heart Foundation, a free indigent care cardiology clinic, and various lecturing and speaking engagements.
